I am very happy to share the news about one of our current and exciting endeavor - SKILLS2017 International Conference, the fourth in a series of Life Skills and Livelihood Skills International [LSLSI] conferences aimed to develop the skills at all levels, leading to sustainable economies and general quality of life of rural India.
LSLSI Conference series have become an international platform to consolidate a professional and practicing community interested in Life and Livelihood dimensions of skills especially those help enhancing rural livelihoods. Previous LSLSI conferences focused on Institutional Development, International cooperation and Realizing and Sustaining a Clean India have been supported by several government and other agencies from 13 countries. The first conference, SKILLS2010, was honored to have an inaugural address by former president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. We consider all these conferences were successful having able to spur the ideas to build and sustain initiatives in skill development in scale among relevant stakeholders for an empowered rural India.
SKILLS2017, the two day event, organized by REEDS and LSLSI in collaboration with Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge will be held on 16-17 November 2017 at Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, Hyderabad. The conference this year will, as its name suggests – Leveraging Digital India for Rural Empowerment, focus on the national Digital India mission’s potential to transform rural agricultural economies.
A diverse group of stakeholders will gather to discuss, debate, deliberate and decide on the best means to identify the challenges and create the solutions necessary to leverage Digital India for rural empowerment. With focused strategic sessions which we believe are significant in today’s digitally changing environment, SKILLS2017 would surely be relevant to impact Digital India in a productive and realistic manner.
"Digital India is an enterprise for India's transformation on a scale that is, perhaps, unmatched in human history." - PM Modi at Digital India Dinner in San Jose, California (September 26, 2015)
An advisory committee representing 8 countries supporting the event and number of Business, Government and NGO agencies and experts from India and abroad is associated with it. You may find the list of already committed speakers from India and abroad in the conference website, more would join soon to this exciting line-up. As Prime Minister Modi said "Much of India that we dream of is yet to be built. So, we have the opportunity to shape its path now". SKILLS2017 is our bit of work to realize Digital India vis-à-vis rural empowerment. We request you to join in this important endeavor and support us to make a change. After all, "The sustainable development of one-sixth of humanity will be a major force of good for our world and our planet."
With warm regards to all our supporters of our rural empowerment mission..
